Job summary

Bell Bank is hiring for a client services/benefits specialist in Fargo, ND. You will enter policy data into EPIC, prepare coverages proposals, and manage RFPs while reviewing carrier documents for accuracy and responding to client inquiries.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business/insurance/HR, 2–4 years in employee benefits or related client service, and an active Life, Accident, and Health license or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, HR, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of employee benefits, insurance brokerage, account management, or related client service experience.
  • Active Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required, or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain accurate policy information in EPIC for client servicing and documentation.
  • Prepare proposals and recommendations to ensure clients understand coverages.
  • Manage RFP process including preparation of documents, follow-up and presentation.
  • Review contracts, benefit plan summaries, rates, and other carrier documents for accuracy.
  • Respond to client inquiries, advisor, and carrier requests promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain expiration lists and gather renewal information from carriers.
  • Assist in Open Enrollment preparation including updating guides, resources and communications.
  • Prepare data for annual compliance audits to be presented by Account Executive or Benefit Advisor.
  • Maintain expertise in agency systems, third-party resources and programs.
  • Foster positive relationships with carriers, producers and colleagues.

Job description

This position represents Bell Insurance in a professional and courteous manner, providing prompt, efficient and accurate services to our customers, agents and insurance carriers with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Enter and maintain accurate policy information in EPIC for all client servicing, processing transactions, and documentation.
  • Prepare proposals and recommendations that ensure our clients and prospects understand the coverages being offered.
  • Manage the Request For Proposal (RFP) process including preparation of documents, follow-up and presentation.
  • Review contracts, benefit plan summaries, rates, and other carrier documents for accuracy.
  • Respond to client inquiries, advisor, and carrier requests on a timely and professional basis.
  • Maintain expiration lists and gather renewal information from the carriers.
  • Assist in preparation for Open Enrollment including updating benefit guides, client resources and communications.
  • Prepare data for annual compliance audits to be presented by Account Executive or Benefit Advisor.
  • Maintain expertise in agency computer systems, third party resources and computer programs.
  • Maintain positive, productive relationships with carriers, producers and fellow employees.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, insurance, human resources, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of employee benefits, insurance brokerage, account management, or related client service experience.
  • Active Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required, or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of the details of various insurance coverages.
  • Diligent follow up skills.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
