Job summary

BECU, a member-owned financial institution in Washington, is hiring a Collections Specialist I to help members navigate financial challenges while protecting their financial well-being. You will investigate accounts across card, loan products, and deposits, document interactions and payment arrangements, and collaborate with teammates to resolve routine inquiries.

This role requires PST hours, periodic on-site travel to Tukwila or Spokane, and a strong team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• At least 1 year of experience in collections or a financial services contact center.
• Proficient with MS Office and database software.

Responsibilities

• Drive compliance and accountability while delivering a high-quality member experience.
• Meet delinquency and recovery goals through outbound/inbound dialer activities.
• Analyze member accounts and determine next steps to reduce delinquency and financial loss.
• Locate updated contact information when numbers are unavailable.
• Maintain accurate records of address changes and phone numbers.
• Document conversations and payment arrangements in the system.
• Take on additional duties to support team goals.
