Job summary

BECU is seeking a Collections Specialist I to assist members facing financial challenges while protecting the institution’s financial health. You will handle outbound and inbound call activities, document discussions, and coordinate with teammates for complex cases.

This role emphasizes empathy, accuracy, and timely problem solving to minimize losses and improve member outcomes. Based in WA, the position requires PST hours with possible on-site meetings in Tukwila or Spokane and periodic

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in collections, financial institution contact center, or retail banking.
• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate proficiency using MS Office and database software required.

Responsibilities

• Drive compliance and accountability while delivering high-quality member experiences.
• Complete outbound/inbound dialer activities to support delinquency and recovery goals.
• Analyze member accounts and determine next steps to reduce delinquency and financial loss.
• Update member records and document interactions in the system of record.
• Take on additional duties as needed to support team success.
