Job summary

BECU in Washington state is seeking a Collections Specialist I to help members navigate financial challenges while protecting their financial well‑being. You’ll listen with empathy, build trust, and determine next steps across accounts including credit cards, auto loans, and home equity loans.

The role requires staying compliant, recording interactions accurately, and collaborating with teammates. Typical shifts are PST, with possible rotating Saturday coverage; onsite meetings in Tukwila or

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and databases.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Drive compliance and accountability while delivering a high‑quality member experience.
• Complete outbound/inbound dialer activities to support delinquency and recovery objectives.
• Analyze member accounts and determine next steps to reduce delinquency.
• Locate updated member contact information when numbers are unavailable.
• Update records with address changes and phone numbers.
• Document conversations and payment arrangements in the system.
• Take on additional duties to support team success and evolving priorities.
