Job summary

Douglas County School District in Parker, CO seeks an Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Affective Needs program. The EA provides intensive support to students with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, assisting with crisis intervention, emotional regulation, and structured learning.

The role collaborates with educators to implement IEP goals and SEL strategies. Applicants should have a High School diploma and First Aid/CPR Certification, with experience in crisis management

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid & CPR Certification - American Heart Association.
• Experience or training in crisis management or behavior support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement student-specific crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
• Provide calm support to students during emotional distress or behavioral crises.
• Assist students with social-emotional learning and coping skills; support sensory/safe spaces.
• Implement Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and teach replacement behaviors.
• Collect and maintain daily data on student behavior and progress as required by the IEP team.
