Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Affective Needs program at Ranch View Middle School to support students with emotional and behavioral needs. The role focuses on crisis intervention, emotional regulation, and delivering a safe, structured learning environment.

The EA will work closely with teachers and mental health staff to implement IEP goals, support curriculum access, and promote restorative practices.

Qualifications

• Ability to implement crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a therapeutic approach.
• Willingness to complete required crisis management training.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and emotional support to students.
• Collaborate with SPED staff to implement IEP goals.
• Assist with social-emotional learning activities and restorative practices.
• Ensure student safety and confidentiality in accordance with district policy.
• Assist with daily data collection on student progress.
