Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with an IEP, BIP, and HCP in Mountain Ridge Middle School. The role requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to follow detailed plans, including health-related tasks and behavior strategies, across classroom settings and routines.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions for implementing IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols with fidelity.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and respond to complex and challenging student behaviors.
• Willingness and ability to assist students with personal care, toileting, and mobility, including lifting and transferring (with appropriate training and assistance).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 direct student support in the general education classroom, special education setting, and non-instructional environments.
• Implement and monitor the student's BIP and crisis strategies consistently across settings.
• Collect and record data on academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals, reporting progress to the Special Education Teacher.
