Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) to support students with Significant Support Needs at Franktown Elementary. You will work under a licensed special education teacher to implement IEP goals, assist with health needs and mobility, and promote safety, independence, and engagement in a structured classroom.

The role includes assisting with personal care, feeding (including G-tube when trained), dressing, toileting, and AAC/PECS communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for implementing IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols with high fidelity.
• Strong commitment to student dignity, safety, and promoting the maximum level of independence for all students.
• Willingness and ability to assist students with personal care, toileting, and mobility, including lifting and transferring (with appropriate training and assistance)

Responsibilities

• Health, Mobility, & Safety: Assist with student positioning, transferring, and mobility using specialized equipment.
• Monitor and provide delegated health care procedures, including seizure monitoring and emergency medications.
• Maintain a safe and clean learning environment, including cleaning/sanitizing equipment used for personal care and instruction.
• Closely supervise students during transitions, outdoor activities, and mealtimes to ensure safety.
