Job summary

Envirotest, a subsidiary of Opus Inspection, is hiring for a Second Assistant Manager to oversee daily station operations and lead the lane team in Owings Mills, MD. The role pays $17.25 per hour with full benefits and requires compliance with emissions testing protocols.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the facility, conducting tests, monitoring traffic, training new staff, and ensuring a professional, welcoming environment for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
• Certification training for emissions testing completed.
• Customer service and cash-handling experience required.
• Strong communication and professional demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Frequent standing and lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing the facility.
• Conduct emission tests on customer vehicles.
• Oversee lane operations to manage traffic flow and wait times.
• Perform system overrides and troubleshoot issues.
• Coach and mentor new lane inspectors during onboarding.
• Explain testing process and results to customers.
• Report safety concerns or policy violations to the Station Manager.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming station environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
