Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking an EMG / NCS Technologist to provide quality patient care and excellent customer service. You will test each patient with speed, efficiency and compassion following FOI’s policies.

Responsibilities include explaining the nerve conduction study to patients, reviewing records for clearance, performing studies, maintaining equipment, and assisting physicians with documentation.

Qualifications

• CNCT or RNCST certification is required.
• Graduated from a CAAHEP accredited neuro-diagnostic program.

Responsibilities

• Explain the nerve conduction study to the patient prior to the exam.
• Review the patient’s medical records to confirm clearance for the procedure.
• Perform nerve conduction studies and recognize normal and abnormal results.
• Eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifact.
• Assist Physician with documentation of patient history.
• Consult with the Physician on the study results.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain and ensure proper operation of equipment including calibrations.
• Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
