Job summary

Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is seeking a skilled NCS Technologist to perform quality nerve conduction studies across pediatric and adult patients, interpret results, and assist with patient preparation.

You will greet patients, document findings, troubleshoot equipment, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with physicians and lab staff to support accurate diagnoses in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. This is an on-site role requiring attention to detail and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in END or related field required.
• Four years of progressive NCS testing experience.
• Current BLS HealthCare Provider certification.
• R.NCS.T. certification preferred; if certified after 2009, recertify every 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs common and uncommon NCS testing with skill and patient-appropriate approach; recognizes normal and abnormal results and mitigates artifacts.
• Adapts testing scope to age and status of patients; maintains patient comfort and safety.
• Greets patients and explains procedures; reviews medical orders and notes special needs.
• Manages study logistics including history, paperwork, charging, and archiving of records.
• Troubleshoots equipment, inventories supplies, and maintains room cleanliness.
• Keeps up-to-date with current practices and participates in continuing education.
• Responds to on-call needs and communicates effectively with staff and physicians.
