Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Neurodiagnostic 2 (EMG) Technologist to perform nerve conduction studies and assist with EMG and neuromuscular ultrasound in an outpatient setting with occasional inpatient responsibilities. You will care for both adult and pediatric patients while collaborating with physicians and neurology specialists in a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Education: CVT, EMT, Paramedic, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, or Associate’s Degree or greater in a Health Sciences related field.
• Experience: 2+ years clinical patient care preferred.
• Licensure: ACLS; pursuing PALS; ACLS required or 6-month window if Clinician 2 grandfathered.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform nerve conduction studies on adult and pediatric patients.
• Assist during EMG and neuromuscular ultrasound procedures.
• Prepare patients for testing and explain procedures to promote positive experience.
• Review orders, collect and document patient information, support clinic operations.
• Maintain diagnostic equipment, exam rooms, and laboratory readiness.
• Monitor supplies and inventory to ensure smooth workflow.
• Communicate study progress and findings with physicians and care teams.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support quality and compliance.
