Job summary

UVA Health, part of The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia, seeks a Neurodiagnostic 2 (EMG) Technologist. The role covers outpatient testing with some inpatient duties, performing nerve conduction studies and assisting EMG/ultrasound procedures for adults and children.

You will promote a high-quality patient experience, maintain equipment, and collaborate with neurology teams in a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical education program such as CVT, EMT, Paramedic, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, or an Associate's Degree or greater in Health Sciences.
• Radiography Technician preferred.
• Experience in clinical patient care is strongly preferred.
• ACLS certification; pursuing PALS as required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform nerve conduction studies on adult and pediatric patients.
• Assist with EMG and neuromuscular ultrasound procedures.
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, and promote a positive patient experience.
• Review orders, document patient information, and support clinic operations.
• Maintain diagnostic equipment and exam rooms; monitor supplies and inventory.
• Communicate findings with physicians and care teams; troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in continuing education and mentor less experienced staff.
