Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technician to operate NDC equipment for EEG and related studies. Responsibilities include patient preparation, data recording, and assisting with Botox procedures as needed. Role requires 1 year clinical experience and active BLS certification.

Position offers on-call and weekend coverage and potential signing bonus. High school diploma and nerve conduction testing registration are required; incumbents must pursue board

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a clinic or inpatient setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with staff, physicians and patients.

Responsibilities

• Operates NDC equipment to record patients' brain waves or nerve impulses; monitors, records and documents all aspects of recording.
• Performs special EEGs or Long-Term Epilepsy monitoring; sometimes drug induced studies.
• Prepares the patient and explains the procedure; ensures patient cooperation.
• Assists physician in preparing and positioning patients for BOTOX with accurate documentation.
• Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and coordinates with Biomedical Engineering for maintenance.
• Provides on-call and weekend coverage as assigned.
• Performs other related clerical and technical duties in the lab.
