Job summary

The University of Maine at Farmington is hiring an Emerging Technology Coordinator to lead campus-wide exploration, evaluation, and adoption of new tech, from AI to future tools.

You’ll partner with faculty, staff, students, and campus leaders to build digital and AI literacy, support innovative teaching and learning, and help the University navigate a rapidly changing technological landscape.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in education, technology, instructional design, learning sciences, or related field.
• Experience designing, piloting, or evaluating AI-based tools or workflows in education or professional contexts.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple constituencies and coordinate projects.
• Demonstrated initiative and service-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead campus efforts to identify and evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and responsible-use practices.
• Create engaging training and professional development on new technologies for faculty, staff, and students.
• Work with faculty to apply emerging technologies to course design and assessments.
• Partner with Library to strengthen AI and information literacy.
• Explore innovative tools and projects such as chatbots, agents, rapid prototyping, and other learning technologies.
