Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Manager Trainee in the Supply Chain department. Under general supervision, you will learn to manage a small driver count, coordinate with drivers and carriers, and ensure safe, on-time freight movement while honoring DOT regulations.

You will gain hands-on experience in load planning, fleet operations, budgeting, and reporting, preparing you to advance into leadership roles within a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field or 1 year management/transportation/logistics experience.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company events.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends if needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers for seamless carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train and orient drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Assist in budgeting, P&L analysis, payroll, and driver counseling tasks.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment readiness and repairs.
• Work with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and plan routes.
