Job summary

The Boys' Club of New York Inc. is seeking a Junior Director to lead youth development programs for boys ages 10-12 and oversee a program budget.

You will hire and supervise frontline staff and volunteers, collaborate with the Assistant Clubhouse Director, and drive evidence-based curricula and healthy-living initiatives. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or five years of relevant youth work, along with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; or five years of youth work experience.
• Demonstrated skills in program planning and facilitation for youth.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work a demanding schedule.
• Experience working with economically and educationally disadvantaged youth.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage age-specific programs for boys 10-12, including life skills, recreation and healthy living.
• Plan and conduct activities that provide leadership opportunities for members.
• Organize the junior room program area to ensure safety and meet member needs.
• Oversee staffing and management of part-time staff and volunteers, including recruitment, onboarding, and coaching.
• Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
• Lead professional development and staff meetings for part-time staff.
• Create a positive work atmosphere that fosters teamwork and idea exchange.
• Ensure all staff follow behavior, discipline, and safety policies.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Clubhouse Director to set expectations and events.
• Participate in all Clubhouse events and meetings.
• Build relationships with members and families to meet individual needs.
