Job summary

EPRI is seeking an Emerging Grid & Customer Solutions Business Formation Lead who will oversee research programs and lead cross-functional teams across DER, microgrid, and AI-enabled grid operations. The role requires advanced degrees and a track record of influential research in energy systems.

The incumbent will guide collaborations with utilities, vendors, and regulators, shaping technical roadmaps and strategic partnerships. A senior leadership profile is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires MS/PhD or equivalent.
• Proven research leadership in energy systems.
• Experience with DER, microgrids, and AI-enabled grid operations.
• Ability to collaborate across sectors and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversees researchers and represents EPRI internally and externally.
• Leads highly specialized technical objectives with novel problems requiring creative thinking.
• Designs and oversees research studies advancing field knowledge and impact.
• Leads research, advisory services, and consulting in DER, BESS, microgrids, demand flexibility, and AI-enabled utilities.
• Guides utilities, technology providers, and equipment manufacturers in design, deployment, and evaluation of DER, BESS, and microgrid solutions.
• Develops tools, benchmarking approaches, and validation frameworks for power system modeling platforms.
