Job summary

The law firm in Boston, New York or San Francisco is seeking an Emerging Companies / VC Associate to join a small, high‑visibility team. You will work hybrid, advising startups and growth companies through formation to exit, and manage venture financings from term sheet to closing.

Mid-level associates gain early responsibility, direct client relationships, and visible progression to partners in a collaborative environment. A background in emerging companies or venture capital is ideal.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' post-qualification experience at a US law firm.
• Experience in venture financings or emerging companies or general corporate work.
• M&A experience is a plus for this Emerging Companies / VC Associate - Legal hire.
• Admission to practise in the relevant state, or eligibility to waive in or sit soon.
• Confidence handling clients directly and an appetite for ownership.

Responsibilities

• Advising start-ups and growth-stage businesses across their life cycle, from formation through to exit.
• Running venture financings for companies and investors, from term sheet to closing.
• Acting as day-to-day outside general counsel on governance, equity incentives and commercial points.
• Supporting M&A exits and strategic transactions alongside senior colleagues.
• Managing closing processes, cap table matters and diligence with a high degree of autonomy.
• Building your own relationships with founders, funds and in-house teams.
