Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will work with doctors and staff to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care in fast-paced environments, handling triage, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care duties.

You will perform a range of tasks from IV management to imaging, with opportunities for growth and mentorship within a supportive VEG culture. A passion for helping people and their pets is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of VEG practice is required; VTS in ECC is a plus.
• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Experience with practice management software and EMR systems.
• Excellent communicator and able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Triage and provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in emergencies.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Manage IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and other treatments.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to plan and ensure smooth care flow.
• Perform CPR and participate in emergency procedures as needed.
• Utilize imaging, sample collection, and tube placements as required.
• Provide care for patients across a wide range of emergencies.
