Job summary

United Veterinary Care in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician to deliver outstanding patient care alongside doctors and shift leadership. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment that supports ongoing education and mentoring for newer team members.

Your role includes triage of critical patients, client communication, animal restraint, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace while collaborating with the team

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Veterinary Technician experience is required.
• Licensure is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift and restrain pets up to 40 pounds.
• Excellent customer service, computer, and phone etiquette skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage of critical patients.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient history, treatment estimates, and admitting and discharging of patients.
• Restrain animals for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform venipuncture.
• Monitor anesthesia and recover patients post-operatively.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
• Perform basic kennel duties as required.
• Communicate effectively with Doctors and clients regarding their patients' needs.
