Job summary

VEG is hiring a Nursing Manager to lead the veterinary nursing team in a fast‑paced emergency setting. You will build a culture that empowers and connects staff while ensuring exceptional patient care and high clinical standards.

You will mentor nurses, oversee scheduling and onboarding, and collaborate with hospital leadership to drive goals and improve flows. Night/weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVMT) in the state of the VEG practice required.
• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role; 2+ years in leadership.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day flow for the nursing team with tools and support.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding.
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity.
• Partner with hospital leadership to align goals and flow.
• Use doctor feedback to guide team development and maintain clinical excellence.
• Lead with VEG values: openness, togetherness, heroic helping.
• Foster learning via in‑house training, mentorship, and development pathways.
• Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education programs are upheld.
