Job summary

MedVet in Mountain View, CA seeks a Veterinary Clinical Manager to lead emergency and specialty teams in a fast-paced hospital. This salaried role requires emergency experience and strong leadership, delivering exceptional patient and client care while guiding nurses and clinicians.

You will split time between clinical and administrative duties (minimum 50% admin) and report to the Hospital Director, coaching staff, optimizing schedules, and driving service excellence across departments.

Qualifications

• Emergency experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours in the hospital.
• Must be flexible to meet department needs, including after-hours and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure department healthcare team has resources and tools to deliver the MedVet Experience.
• Coach team members on fundamentals of process improvement, ensuring the department operates efficiently and sustainably.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust schedules to maximize workflow.
• Make recommendations for purchase of needed supplies and equipment in collaboration with service/department representatives.
• Manage and influence department financial decisions and health.
• Provide onboarding training schedule and ongoing performance feedback for team members.
• Negotiate and mediate conflict with HR Partner.
• Screen client and referral partner concerns and collaborate with hospital dyad to resolve.
• Provide development plans for each team member annually.
• Attract and retain exceptional staff with meaningful work and career growth.
• Split time between clinical and administrative duties (minimum 50% admin).
