Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is hiring a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support the team in a fast-paced ER setting. You will greet clients, assist in treatments, triage patients, and help with diagnostics while learning under credentialed technicians and veterinarians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics, from bloodwork to imaging and catheter placement.
• Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation setups.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
• Assist during care from exam room to treatment area and participate in rounds.
