Job summary

VEG is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant to work in a fast-paced ER setting. You will triage, assist with treatments, monitor anesthesia, and support nurses and veterinarians across duties from intake to discharge.

You will grow through guided training pathways, be part of a team that emphasizes learning, and have access to ongoing clinical and leadership programs including travel stipends for ER CE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1+ years as veterinary assistant, emergency or specialty experience a bonus.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited vet tech program is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients and guide them toward care.
• Assist treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation with team.
• Manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medication administration.
• Support in outpatient or inpatient care from exam to treatment.
• Participate in patient rounds to maintain continuity of care.
