Job summary

VEG is expanding its 24/7 emergency veterinary network in Las Vegas and seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant. You will support triage, treatments, and the team from day one, assisting with care and learning the ropes in real time.

You’ll grow with credentialed technicians and veterinarians, with pathways to anesthesia, ultrasound, and advanced responsibilities. VEG emphasizes mentorship, ongoing learning, and a supportive ER culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR software knowledge.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and your team.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases.
• Manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medications.
• Assist during every moment of care: outpatient or inpatient.
• Join patient rounds and maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certification training.
• Grow into advanced responsibilities via training pathways.
• Work in a fast-paced ER environment.
