Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian in Tucson, AZ. You will manage emergency cases, including surgeries and endoscopy, with a team-focused, mentorship-driven culture.

You’ll participate in a fast-paced ER, handling a wide range of cases and helping clients understand diagnoses and care plans. VEG emphasizes learning, growth, and the VEG community in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of VEG triage and ER processes.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam results.
• Perform physical exams, imaging, bloodwork, and biopsies as needed.
• Provide diagnoses and create treatment plans.
• Communicate options and estimates with pet owners.
• Prepare and review medical records for accuracy.
• Explain tests, results, and aftercare to clients.
• Assist with emergency surgeries and define post-care steps.
