Job summary

VEG is hiring a Part-time Emergency Veterinarian. You will handle emergencies, including complex surgeries and endoscopy, in a fast-paced, mentorship-driven setting. The VEG team supports your growth through continuing education and leadership programs.

As a hospital leader, you’ll deliver high-quality care to all pets, including exotics, and collaborate with a team committed to learning and patient-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• A DVM or equivalent degree.
• Experience in emergency medicine and endoscopy is required/strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, lift up to 25 kg, and work on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients promptly as part of VEG Triage and VEG Spikes.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam.
• Perform physical exams, imaging, and lab work as needed.
• Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans and discuss with clients.
• Prepare estimates and present to clients.
• Maintain and review medical records for accuracy.
• Perform emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention.
