Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks an Emergency Veterinarian to handle varied emergencies, including surgeries and endoscopy, in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will work within a mentorship-rich culture that emphasizes continuous learning and client communication.

You’ll participate in VEG Education programs, triage initiatives, and provide top-tier care to dogs, cats, and exotics while supporting clients through difficult decisions and aftercare planning.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Emergency medicine experience, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-background environment.
• Must be able to stand for long hours, lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone and see patients on arrival.
• Perform emergency handling from routine to complex surgeries, including exotics.
• Conduct physical exams, tests (ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, biopsies).
• Prepare diagnostic and treatment plans and communicate options to clients.
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention; review medical records for accuracy.
