Job summary

VEG is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our open-concept hospitals and deliver exceptional care for patients and their families. You’ll work within VEG’s customer-centered model (VEG Triage and VEG Spikes), handling emergencies from routine to complex cases, including exotics, with a team that supports your growth.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Emergency medicine experience preferred.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone
• See patients right away as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes approach
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam
• Conduct physical exams and required diagnostics
• Create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan and communicate options to customers
• Prepare estimates and present them to customers
• Maintain and review medical records for accuracy
• Educate customers on tests, treatments and aftercare
• Perform emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures
