Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks an Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 ER network in Massachusetts. You’ll manage a wide range of emergencies, including surgeries and endoscopy, while mentoring teammates and contributing to a culture of learning and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment.
• Comfortable working in a noisy environment with strong odors.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of VEG Triage and VEG Spikes process.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam.
• Perform physical exams, imaging, and other diagnostics as needed.
• Develop a diagnostic and treatment plan and communicate options to clients.
• Prepare estimates and present them to clients.
• Document medical records accurately and thoroughly.
• Perform routine and complex emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention.
