Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 network of ER hospitals. You’ll handle a wide range of cases, including surgeries and endoscopy, in a mentorship-driven environment that emphasizes learning and growth.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Thrive in a team-oriented hospital environment.
• Able to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone or in person as needed.
• See patients promptly as part of the VEG triage approach and care pathways.
• Perform physical exams, imaging, lab work, and biopsies as required.
• Develop diagnostic and treatment plans and communicate options to clients.
• Assist with surgeries and endoscopic procedures as needed.
• Educate clients on aftercare and preventative measures.
