Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 network of ER hospitals. You will handle diverse emergencies, perform surgeries, and use VEG’s triage approach to ensure rapid, compassionate care for both animals and their families.

You’ll work in a mentorship-focused setting with ongoing CE, on-the-floor guidance, and VEG Education programs to advance your career while providing outstanding veterinary services across a dynamic, high-volume ER

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients on arrival as part of VEG Triage/VEG Spikes.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam.
• Conduct physical exams and required diagnostics.
• Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans with clients.
• Communicate diagnoses and options to customers.
• Prepare estimates and present them to customers.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Explain test/treatment value to customers.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries as needed.
• Perform endoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention.
