VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to handle urgent cases and exotics in a fast-paced hospital setting. You’ll be on the floor, lead patient care, and partner with a supportive team guided by VEG Education programs.

You’ll perform emergency surgeries, endoscopy, and diagnostic workups while communicating treatment options and estimates to clients. Night/weekend shifts and flexible schedules add to the role.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Emergency medicine and surgery experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsabilités

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of VEG triage.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam findings.
• Perform physical exams, imaging, lab work, and biopsies as needed.
• Diagnose conditions and create treatment plans.
• Communicate options and costs with customers.
• Prepare estimates and maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Educate owners on aftercare and prevention.
