Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our open-concept hospitals and provide top-tier emergency care for a wide range of patients, including exotics. Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including surgery and endoscopy.
• Thrive in team-oriented environments with strong collaboration.
• Able to stand, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg alone and up to 40 kg with assistance.
• Willing to work in noisy environments and handle odors.
• Available for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of VEG triage teams.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam findings.
• Perform physical exams and required diagnostics such as imaging and labs.
• Develop a diagnostic and therapeutic plan for each patient.
• Explain diagnosis and treatment options to clients.
• Prepare and present treatment estimates to clients.
• Create and review medical records for accuracy.
• Explain the value of tests and treatments to customers.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries.
• Perform endoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients on aftercare and preventive measures.
• Collaborate with the hospital team to ensure high-quality care.
