Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Larkspur, CA is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician. Join a fast-paced ER team delivering gold-standard care, triage, anesthesia, and critical care while supporting pets and their families during stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located; VTS in ECC/Anesthesia is a plus and may affect compensation.
• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine experience preferred.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; able to support team.
• Able to stand for long hours, lift up to 25 kg (and up to 40 kg with assistance); work in a noisy environment with odors.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis depending on hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Provide nursing care and emotional support to patients and clients during emergencies.
• Handle medications, monitoring, IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and related procedures.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to plan and maintain smooth patient care.
• Perform CPR and utilize advanced techniques and equipment as needed.
• Conduct diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and catheter placements.
• Administer anesthesia for complex cases and fragile patients.
• Utilize central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds as part of care.
