Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Asheville, NC seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join the front lines of emergency care. You will work with doctors on triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, offering compassionate support to pets and their families during stressful moments.

Ideal candidates hold an AVMA-accredited credential, have 1+ year of emergency experience, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of VEG practice.
• 1+ year of experience in veterinary technician role, emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 kg with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing.
• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with imaging, sample collection and anesthesia.
• Maintain clear communication with the team and contribute to care plans.
