Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You’ll handle a wide range of emergency cases, performing triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing while remaining a steady, compassionate presence for pet parents.

You must be CVT/RVT/LVMT in the practice state with an AVMA-accredited program preferred; 1+ year of emergency experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• CVT/RVT/LVMT credential in the practice state is required; VTS in ECC etc. is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR software familiarity.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care.
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support during emergencies.
• Collaborate with doctors to deliver gold-standard care.
• Place IVs/CRIs and blood products as needed.
• Maintain clear team communication and help plan care.
• Assist with imaging and sample collection as required.
• Support CPR and RECOVER training.
