Job summary

VEG seeks an Emergency Veterinary Nursing Shift Lead in Clifton, NJ. You will own the rhythm of each shift, ensuring high‑quality patient care while supporting VEGgies with coaching, break coverage, and on‑the‑floor leadership.

You are a credentialed veterinary technician with emergency experience, strong communication, and a passion for team mentorship. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician preferred (CVT/RVT/LVMT).
• Experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach, and support a fast-paced team.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift operations to ensure top-tier patient care.
• Manage daily workflow and adapt to unexpected changes.
• Assign roles, coordinate breaks, and support team on the floor.
• Lead huddles, rounds, and end-of-day wrap-ups with calm under pressure.
• Communicate clearly and escalate key issues to leadership.
