MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Cincinnati, OH seeks an Emergency Veterinary Doctor Coordinator to support on-shift doctors, manage workflow, and coordinate diagnostics and transfers. The role includes client discussions, case documentation, and ensuring care plans are carried out under physician guidance.

Ideal candidates have veterinary experience, strong calculations and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Veterinary experience required.
• Emergency experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift and may assist multiple doctors.
• Ensure follow-through of departmental workflow for the doctors served.
• Coordinate scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegate team tasks and mentor junior staff when needed.
• Serve as contact for referral partner transfers and inquiries.
• Communicate with clients about cases and care plans in doctor’s absence.
• Draft medical records and initial patient histories for doctor review.
• Monitor emails and voicemails for the doctors.
• Assist with outpatient procedures and post-operative activities.
• Escort patients when needed and prepare exam rooms.
• Coordinate prescription refills with team members.
