The Veterinary Emergency Group in Larkspur, CA is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant (Relief) to join our fast-paced ER team. As a per diem role, you’ll support triage, treatment, and client communication while gaining hands-on experience alongside credentialed techs.

This entry-level to mid-level position emphasizes learning and growth, with training pathways toward anesthesia support, ultrasound, and more. Availability nights, weekends, and holidays is required on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software and EMR.

Responsabilités

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics from bloodwork to imaging.
• Work with technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation setups.
