Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Larkspur, CA seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join the busy ER team. You will triage patients, assist with treatments, and support anesthesia and monitoring under the guidance of licensed clinicians.

This role emphasizes growth through hands-on training, exposure to diverse cases (including exotics), and pathways toward credentialed technician roles within a collaborative ER environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in emergency veterinary setting preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients and guide them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics (bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, oxygen support).
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation with credentialed staff.
• Manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medication administration.
• Support throughout outpatient or inpatient care and in exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Participate in patient rounds to maintain continuity of care.
