Job summary

Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join the overnight team. You will support veterinarians and technicians with daily tasks, care for inpatients, and help ensure a high level of patient and client service.

Established in 1974 and AAHA-accredited, the hospital provides emergency services and specialty care in a busy, collaborative environment. Sign-on bonuses may be available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to be the only tech on site, comfortable caring for ICU patients and serving as the surgery tech if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vitals upon arrival.
• Triage patients, assist with exams, treatments, and medications.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and records.
• Feed, groom, and care for patients; assist with radiographs and lab tests.
