VEG ER for Pets in Denver seeks a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join the team from day one, supporting care, comforting pet parents, and learning on the job. You’ll handle triage, treatments, and monitor patients, with opportunities to grow toward credentialed technician roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited vet tech program a plus.
• 1+ year in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Excellent communicator with pets' families.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients and guide them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medications.
• Support both outpatient and inpatient care, from exam room to treatment area.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER certification (training provided).
• Grow into advanced tasks via guided training pathways.
