Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant to be in the heart of the action from day one, supporting your team, comforting pet parents, and learning the ropes in real time. You’ll participate in triage, treatments, and monitoring, with opportunities to grow toward credentialed technician roles.

This role offers exposure to anesthesia, imaging, and critical care in a bustling emergency setting, with rotations and training provided to expand your skillset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience a bonus).

Responsibilities

• Provide triage and support for emergency cases from reception to care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, imaging, and anesthesia setup.
• Care for patients during outpatient and inpatient visits.
• Join rounds and monitor the clinical status to ensure continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer training (provided).
• Grow into advanced responsibilities through guided training.
