Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant for the Folsom, CA location. You will play a key role in triage, nursing care, diagnostics, and treatments, supporting veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced ER environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases with team.
• Manage IV fluids, blood products, and medications.
• Support during all care moments from exam to treatment area.
