Veterinary Emergency Group is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant in Folsom, CA. You will support the team from day one, triage patients, assist with treatments, and help ensure a smooth flow of care in a busy ER environment.

You’ll work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians, gain hands-on experience, and have opportunities to expand responsibilities through guided training. Training includes CPR and RECOVER certification.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus!).
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.

Responsabilidades

• Be the first warm welcome and a steady support, triaging incoming patients and guiding them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics, from bloodwork and imaging to catheter placement and oxygen support.
• Work alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
• Assist during every moment of care: outpatient or inpatient, exam room to treatment area.
• Join patient rounds and stay close to the clinical picture for continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided!).
• Grow into advanced responsibilities, such as anesthesia support, ultrasound, and catheterization through guided training pathways.
