Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Emergency Communication Coordinator to serve as the central hub for emergency transport and patient transfer operations. You will coordinate and dispatch the Air Care Team, Critical Care Trucks, and the Emergency Transfer Center activities across the healthcare network.

As the first point of contact in urgent situations, you will manage multiple channels, operate advanced dispatch and EHR systems, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to facilitate

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Medical Terminology course; or CNA license; or
• EMS Dispatch
• State of Florida EMT license may be substituted in lieu of course

Responsibilities

• Performs primary flight following duties for all Air Care Team aircraft and Critical Care Trucks.
• Communicates with flight/ground crews to relay information and ensure safety and situational awareness.
• Operates EHR/EMR and dispatch systems for rapid entry of transport requests.
• Coordinates interfacility transport within the Orlando Health network.
• Triages multiple tasks in a high-stress environment and completes tasks timely.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to facilitate transfer and transport requests.
