Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando seeks a Transport Communication Specialist for a full-time 7P-7A shift to join our pediatric critical care transport team. The role ensures accurate and timely communications among the transport crew, referring physicians, and Nemours departments.

The position supports back-up ambulance and helicopter coordination and requires EMT/EMD experience, medical terminology knowledge, and strong multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• One year of training beyond high school diploma required.
• EMT or EMD experience required, paramedic experience preferred.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
• Previous communications center experience a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Responds promptly to transport requests via hot line or in-house lines with professional communication.
• Assists physicians in determining mode of transport, team configuration, and use of lights and sirens.
• Coordinates with vendors for back-up ambulances and helicopter requests.
• Collaborates with Patient Intake Coordinator to obtain complete intake information.
• Facilitates communications among transport clinician, medical control officer, and referring physicians.
• Notifies Nursing Supervisors and Admissions personnel of transport acceptance as directed.
• Maintains contact with ambulance crews during missions and concurrent runs.
• Documents communications and completes EPIC intake/disposition.
• Answers and routes incoming on the Kid Admit line.
• Coordinates multiple air and ground referrals.
• Supports Quality Improvement initiatives within the department.
