Job summary

Health First in Florida seeks a Flight Communications Specialist to support facility transfer processes, paperwork, and patient transport setup for timely services. The role dispatches Health First Flight professionally when requested by any facility.

The position requires coordinating with clinical departments, EMS, and flight crews; entering data into dispatch systems; and ensuring seamless patient movement across facilities under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Office – Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Ability to use computer applications and systems.
• Proficiency in understanding Medical Terminology.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Arranges all patient transport requests for air, ground, or nonmedical transport.
• Gathers and enters information into the CAD dispatch system before departures.
• Relays patient information to receiving units and tracks flights.
• Communicates with clinical staff and offices to coordinate transfers and admissions.
• Documents patient data related to scheduling and transfers; maintains databases.
• Coordinates with specialty teams for alerts and ensures timely medical interventions.
• Maintains patient satisfaction by coordinating with third-party agencies and customers.
• Notifies flight crews and agencies to ensure timely and appropriate patient care.
• Resolves basic hardware and software issues to minimize disruptions.
